We are looking for a Principal Engineer - Piping to join our team based in our Aberdeen (AIBP) office. What will you be doing? Lead the Piping engineering team to meet project requirements and perform all technical duties in a highly competent and efficient manner. To carry out professional engineering, procurement, construction, installation, and completion activities in a competent and efficient manner whilst ensuring that the technical and safety integrity of engineering being performed is maintained at all times. Ensure project deliverables are generated using Aker Solutions systems and tools (note; training will be provided). Be involved in a wide variety of scopes ranging from smaller Front End Studies to Minor/Major Modification and Maintenance Projects and other Specialist Services. Review, check the work of others and be responsible for their performance within their discipline / function and ensuring technical correctness of deliverables and compliance with international codes & standards, client specifications and project standards. Compilation of weekly reports on progress via project tools where applicable. Liaise with client project and facilities engineering in the execution of the modifications project scopes of work delivering work on Schedule and within Budget and in accordance with company procedures. Accountable for the effective administration and implementation of Management of Change. Preparation of cost and time/man-hour estimates via Aker Solutions Systems where applicable. Input into the planning, co-ordination and execution of the groups work activities. Liaise with other disciplines on design, construction, fabrication and commissioning issues. Provide engineering and technical direction for drawing office personnel. Provision of holiday, sickness cover when required or as delegated by the Engineering Manager. Attend meetings as and when required Active participate in HAZOP, design reviews and other relevant safety reviews Familiar with the aspects of Pipe Stress Analysis Familiar with the aspects of Pipe Supports Review and comment on vendor information and assist with inspection and testing. Management of onshore / offshore surveys and answer site queries. Execute according to and contribute to developing an industry leading project execution model. Develop an understanding and ensure a good PEM knowledge of work processes and tools/systems (e-learning training will be given) within the discipline and give PEM introduction/training and discipline training as required. Implementing field life solutions for our customers Work together with large clients within the energy industry Potential to work across segments and locations We think you should have: Sound working knowledge of relevant industry codes and standards Preferably experience with Equinor systems and tools. Educated to degree level in engineering discipline Chartered or Incorporated Engineer preferred 10 years relevant experience including front end studies, FEED and/or EPCI projects from energy sector. Basic knowledge of design software such as PDMS, E3D, Navisworks and AutoCAD. Participate in HAZOP review as required. Solution oriented with good communication and collaboration skills. Knowledge of relevant Norwegian regulations and standards preferred but not essential. Awareness of latest technical developments Strong work ethics and a proactive attitude. The ability to train and mentor piping and mechanical discipline engineers. A commercial mindset, good communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. The ability to see solutions together with meeting customer expectations and requirements. The competency to be accurate, flexible, and organized
