Our client is a family run business in Turners Hill, West Sussex, who have been established for 35 years - they are looking for an experienced Retail Manager with a passion and drive to join their friendly team, who will thrive in this fast-paced retail business.
Salary: £32,000 - £35,000
Location: Turners Hill, West Sussex - due to the location, your own transport is essential
Hours: Monday to Saturday, 9am to 6pm (Summer)/5.30pm (Winter), Sundays 10am to 4.30pm
Working week: 2 week rota (Week 1: 4 weekdays /Week 2: 4 weekdays, Saturday & Sunday)

What will your working week involve?
1. Supporting the successful and smooth running of the day to day operations of the business, communicating with the Owner, Area Managers and office staff
2. Managing a small team
3. Manage stock levels (ordering, stocktakes)
4. Manage EPOS computer system and internal/external data systems
5. Manage animal welfare (licensing, animal husbandry, Tropical livestock sales and fish keeping)
6. Recruitment of staff
7. Maintaining high standards on site in all areas including but not limited to store presentation, overstock areas and gardens
8. Comply with all Health and Safety policies and latest legislations
9. Ensure team is delivering an exemplary standard of customer service
Do you have the skills and attributes required?
1. Strong Retail Store management experience
2. Aquatic experience preferred
3. Ability to work to sales targets
4. Passionate about the product range and willing to learn technical details
5. Self-motivated and passionate about customer service
6. Be able to show a high level of organisation and strong leadership skills
7. Good IT skills to include Excel
8. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, under pressure
