Apex Scotland is the leading employment and training organisation specialising in work with people with convictions, offering a diverse range of services for young people and adults to help them break down barriers to employment and engage in education, employment or community activities. You will work as a Support Worker for an Apex Scotland service in the City of Edinburgh, for individuals seeking to access positive, meaningful activity, many of whom are on their journey into employment. Individuals may face some barriers to moving on such as requiring support with recruitment processes, vocational training or work experience opportunities. Individuals may have experience of the justice system and have a criminal record which requires to be disclosed to a potential employer. The service will support individuals along the Apex Scotland Participant Journey, meeting them where they are, with regards to their personal development needs and provide objective, practical support to enhance their autonomy and confidence to access and sustain meaningful activity. You will operate Edinburgh wide and is required to be mobile and operate in an outreach manner, with means of access to regular travel and movement throughout the area. This post is funded by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund: Capital City Partnership with funding until 31 March 2026. Membership of the Prevention of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme is required.
