Wood Mackenzie moved under Private Equity ownership in 2023 and is now executing on its Value Creation Plan to deliver high growth. We are looking for someone who thrives within a fast-paced, dynamic global business and who has a keen focus on delivering results and building high-performance teams.
We are looking for a Director of Brand & Creative who is a strategic and visionary leader responsible for driving all aspects of brand management, and visual and verbal identity. The successful candidate will be instrumental in shaping and amplifying WoodMac's brand narrative, ensuring cohesive and compelling messaging across all channels, and creating customer experiences that drive engagement and loyalty. This role is critical to driving our next phase of growth, requiring a leader with a deep understanding of brand management, and an ability to build traction with internal brand ambassadors and develop external brand advocates. They should have exceptional communication skills, and the ability to inspire and lead a high-performing team.
The direct reports for this role are currently based in London and Edinburgh, and this role will engage with the wider Marketing team and stakeholders across the globe.
Main Responsibilities
* Brand Positioning: Elevate WoodMac's brand position in the market and establish/reestablish the market leader position across all the markets we cover.
* Enhance the brand identity: Ensure the visual design across all marketing materials, digital platforms, and events is consistent, compelling, and reflective of the company's innovation and leadership in the market.
* Brand campaigns: Run campaigns utilizing the full mix of digital, OOH and in-person channels to increase brand awareness, preference, and loyalty metrics.
* Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a high-performing global team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and innovation. Coaching and developing the team to meet the demands of a high-growth company under PE ownership.
* Measurement: Gather data on external brand performance using multiple approaches (e.g. quantitative and qualitative methods, monitoring tools), and communicate brand progress and SOV through KPI dashboards.
* CX: Help the organization understand how the brand informs customer experience, and how it is portrayed in various customer segments or phases of the customer lifecycle.
* Acquisitions: Maintain a logical brand architecture and develop a rules-based approach to integrate acquired brands.
* Amplification: Work closely with Comms & PR teams on ensuring the brand is being amplified through media outreach and through the development of internal comms.
About You
To be successful in this role, you'll be a senior Marketing professional with a track record of strong performance, experience activating impactful brands, and experience managing teams within a large global organization. It will be beneficial if you have some knowledge of the natural resources, energy & renewables markets.
You Will Have
* At least 15 years of proven experience in Marketing
* A growth mindset and solid strategic thinking
* Experience of working within a B2B environment
* Hands-on experience of delivering brand campaigns
* Advantageous to have experience of working in a data/analytics/tech/SaaS business
* Strong communication, story-telling and writing skills
* Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to influence and engage peers
* Demonstrated experience of stakeholder management
* Experience of coaching subject matter experts and spokespeople and ability to land key messages with employees, customers and the industry
* Experience of working autonomously within a matrix organization
* Project and budget management skills and attention to detail
* Ability to quickly understand complex subject matter and simplify whilst maintaining the nuance and essence of key messages.
Working Expectations
* We are a hybrid working company and the successful applicant will be expected to be physically present in the office at least 2 days per week to foster and contribute to a collaborative environment, but this may be subject to change in the future.
* While this is expected to be a full-time role, flexible working arrangements will be considered.
* Due to the global nature of the team, a degree of flexible working will be required to accommodate different time zones.
