Ward Nursing Manager | Inpatients | Full Time | Permanent | Leeds LS8 Spire Leeds have a fantastic opportunity for an experience Ward Manager to join the inpatients department on a full time, permanent basis. This role will suit a Senior Nurse looking for the next step in their career, or an experienced nursing manager looking for a new challenge. Spire Leeds Hospital, located in Roundhay, Leeds, has been treating patients for almost 30 years. We are the regions largest private hospital in terms of the range of services we offer and the number of consultants we work with. The hospital offers a range of services and facilities including four operating theatres, a sterile services department, a dedicated endoscopy suite, and a diagnostic and imaging department with an MRI and CT scanner. There are outpatient and physiotherapy departments providing services six days per week Duties and responsibilities The Ward Manager will manage the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of planned care for patients, whilst managing more than one clinical team, in a safe and caring environment, in the most efficient and clinically effective way, whilst maintaining the patients privacy and dignity. The Ward Manager will provide excellent clinical and managerial leadership and appropriate advice and support to other staff in the department as well as supporting the Head of Clinical Services in the overall management of the healthcare environment. Lead the service against Spire key performance indicators, ensuring the efficient running of the department. Provide and receive patient information, ensuring that all patient information is provided, received and recorded in accordance with the Data Protection Act and Spire Policies. Develop own knowledge and skills and contribute to the development of others. Promote best practice in health & safety and security. Maintain a high level of service. Promote peoples equality, diversity and rights. Apply correct use of technology. Seek and employ innovative methods of improving service delivery in line with the 5 CQC Key Lines of Enquiry (KLOE); always aiming to achieve Good and Outstanding. Adhere to all relevant healthcare standards and manage issues of governance and risk effectively. To ensure that effective systems are in place to manage stocks according to financial instructions, efficient utilisation, intelligent ordering and to work closely with the Finance Manager to ensure compliance with the above. Ensure all audits/reviews of the departments and their performance are undertaken and implement action plans in response to findings. To develop the marketing of the service and deliver against targets. This will include responsibility for attracting Consultants to the service. Promote and maintain a close working relationship with external organisations to ensure standardisation and sharing of best practice. To ensure that Clinical Governance and risk management are embedded within daily practice. Provide and receive patient information, ensuring that all patient information is provided, received and recorded in accordance with the Data Protection Act and Spire Policies. Carry out any other duty that reasonably falls within the general nature and level of responsibility of the post.
