About the role
We are searching for a Senior Credit Controller to join our Credit Control team. This team has a focus on collecting and reducing risk to bad debt, whilst doing this it is important that the senior is the connection between leadership and the team, mentoring and passing on knowledge to the wider team.
By using a strategic approach, the Senior Credit Controller will deliver on their individual goals as well as support the wider team to hit and achieve their targets. This role will be based out of our Soapworks office, and we offer flexible and remote working, this will be around the successful delivery of the role.
Your responsibilities
1. B2B Credit Control: Is accountable for a portfolio of accounts and uses excellent verbal and written communication skills to secure payment for wholesale services provided to partners of TalkTalk. Makes decisions in line with the credit policy, applicable regulations and credit control processes. Is empowered to make decisions within the remit of the role and empowers the team to do the same. Promotes best practice within the team. Knows when to take action and when to escalate.
2. Customer Focused: Will find out why the debt is open, gather the right information to enable dispute resolution, and use new or existing relationships to ensure a resolution is reached. As a Local Quality Manager, is responsible for the writing and maintenance of processes as well as identifying opportunities for continual improvement.
3. Performance and Target Driven: Has a desire to achieve and to see the team excel. Is results driven and responsible for personal and team targets, and customer satisfaction. Is assertive and confident to protect the revenue of the business whilst balancing the needs of the customer and takes personal responsibility for quality, accuracy, and security. Works independently, consistently follows processes, takes ownership, and drives the outcome. Is structured and analytical, has an eye for detail and completes all tasks to a high level of accuracy. As a subject matter expert, provides first line support to the team and provides operational cover in the absence of the Credit Manager. Provides direct and actionable feedback and encourages the team to share new ideas and ways of thinking.
4. Stakeholder Management: Builds long lasting relationships with the TTWS Credit Control team and key stakeholders, such as our partners, account managers, customer service, and billing teams. Holds stakeholders to account with time bound actions and promotes stakeholder management within the team. Has an appetite for managing credit risk and understands how this data will impact prioritisation of the portfolio. Knows the difference between unwilling and unable to pay and takes the appropriate action. Leads and promotes a risk-based approach to collections, demonstrating best practice for risk mitigation. Anticipates and responds to changes in customer behaviour to prevent further ageing of debt.
