THIS POSITION IS EXCLUSIVELY WITH NI JOBS Your New Team & Role: OHanlon & Farrell Contracts Ltd is one of Northern Irelands long established leading Electrical Contractors with over 40 years of valuable experience within numerous sectors, including the Industrial, Commercial and Domestic Construction sectors, throughout Ireland and UK. Due to expansion OHanlon & Farrell is seeking to create a new and exciting opportunity within its Electrical Division for an ELECTRICAL QUANTITY SURVEYOR. You will play a key role within the company and report directly to the Commercial Manager. With the companys continued growth plans there will be the potential for increased responsibilities and therefore career progression. Key Responsibilities include: Bring commercial acumen, strong negotiating skills and market knowledge, looking to ensure the best outcome for the company. Responsible for due diligence & appointment of Subcontractor & Specialists. Reviewing & liaise with internal operations on Subcontractor/Specialists Monthly Claims/Payments, following Internal procedures Price, negotiate and agree budgets & costs for variations on project scope. Negotiate Client & Subcontractor Final Accounts Prepare, issue & monitor Monthly Client Valuations Monitor Project costs against budgets and raise/resolve queries where necessary. Attend Pre-contract meetings & routinely liaise with both Clients, Specialists & internal operations/procurement teams Visit site to Pricing Variations, Monitor & Reviewing Supply Chain performance Work with Finance to advice on and reconciling Actual & Forecast Costs to Budgets. Oversee commercial and contractual aspects of relationships with clients, consultants and subcontractor. Support Business Development & Tendering Team where required Liaise with Estimating Team in handover of awarded projects to the Contracts team, BOQ & Budgets Ownership of monitoring Project drawings to ensure all updates/changes are captured, reported & priced to Clients. Monitoring Schedules/Programs against Labour Performance. Develop and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including subcontractors, suppliers, and consultants. Mentor and support junior members of the commercial team. Other commercial matters as required. What youll Need (Experience/Qualifications): Hold a relevant Degree or Relevant Qualification OR Qualified Electrician with Relevant Experience OR Quantity Surveyor Experience within Construction Have good IT skills (including proficiency in using Microsoft Excel and Word) Hold a full driving license Strong understanding of construction contracts and relevant regulations (Desirable) Electrical Contractor Experience/Knowledge (Desirable) Have a technical knowledge of Electrical installations ranging from domestic to large commercial / industrial (Desirable) Essential Skills: Self-motivated and results orientated Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
