Description Independent Chairperson – Norfolk Safeguarding Adults Board 3 year term | 3-6 days per month | £600 per day (£80 per hour) subject to IR35 | Norwich Can you help lead the next phase of safeguarding adults work for Norfolk? Norfolk Safeguarding Adults Board (NSAB) are recruiting a new Independent Chair. NSAB is the formal arrangement which brings together three statutory safeguarding partners: the local authority, health (Norfolk and Waveney Integrated Care Board) and the police, with a wide range of non-statutory agencies who are involved in co-ordinating safeguarding arrangements. All partners are highly engaged and actively support Norfolk Safeguarding Adults Board to deliver its vision for safeguarding adults at risk of abuse and harm in Norfolk. Providing independent scrutiny and challenge, the Board holds to account the agencies to secure the delivery of high-quality safeguarding services and ensuring learning is embedded across the partnership. As an Independent Chairperson, you will provide effective leadership and critical challenge to members of the Board and the wider partnership. You will help us drive forward developments in safeguarding adults in a way that balances our duties to protect people with the rights of people to take positive risks about their own lives, and listening to the lessons learned to inform and embed change and practice in Norfolk. To be considered for this post, you will have senior management/leadership experience in safeguarding adults at risk of abuse and harm in a social care, health, police, education, probation, voluntary or academic sector. With evidence of successfully chairing meetings at a senior strategic level, you will have experience of positive partnership working in statutory and voluntary sectors. You will need a good, current knowledge of the national Safeguarding Adults Boards agenda, and current knowledge of legislation for adults at risk, and of research underpinning safeguarding work. Candidates must be independent of all organisations represented on the board. A commitment of approximately 3 - 6 days a month will be required, up to a maximum of 50 days per year. Payment will be circa £600 per day (£80 per hour). This is subject to IR35. Travel will be paid for within the county of Norfolk only, unless travel is required regionally or nationally in order to fulfil job functions.
