Edgworth Medical Centre is looking to recruit a highly motivated, friendly, and reliable Receptionist/Secretary to join our Administration Team at Edgworth Medical Centre & Egerton & Dunscar Health Centre. The successful applicant will work closely with patients, clinicians, and our admin team to ensure the smooth running of the surgery.

* Dealing with all telephone queries
* Booking patients in for their appointments
* Scanning of all clinical and non-clinical documents
* Prescriptions
* Typing of referrals
* Registrations
* Deductions
* Coding
* Working on Recall lists
* Completing tasks sent by Doctor

We are the Lead Practice for Turton Primary Care Network and work with the following staff from the Additional Roles Scheme:

* Social Link Prescribing Workers
Job responsibilities
The following are the core responsibilities of the medical secretary. There may be, on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks; this will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels:
1. Typing letters, reports, and associated documentation as required
2. Liaising with external agencies such as hospitals and community services, ensuring referrals are processed efficiently
3. Managing all inquiries in an effective manner
4. Maintaining an accurate referrals database
5. Processing calling letters as requested
6. Scanning of patient-related documentation and attaching scanned documents to patients' healthcare records
7. Inputting data into the patients' healthcare records as necessary
8. Processing referrals using the electronic referral system (ERS)
9. Processing requests for information i.e. SAR, insurance/solicitors letters, and DVLA forms
10. Processing patient letter requests and invoicing for private work accordingly
11. Answering incoming phone calls, transferring calls, or dealing with the caller's request appropriately
12. Managing all administrative queries as necessary
13. Carrying out system searches as requested
14. Maintaining a clean, tidy, effective working area at all times
15. Supporting all clinical staff with general administrative tasks as requested
Person Specification
Qualifications
* Educated to GCSE level or equivalent (Essential)
* GCSE Mathematics & English (C or above) (Desirable)
* NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care (Desirable)
* Experience of working with the general public (Essential)
* Experience of administrative duties
* Experience of working in a healthcare setting as a medical secretary
