Role Overview
Leading aviation services provider is seeking experienced Mechanical Design Engineers to join their design team. The roles involve working on aircraft modifications and repairs across various aircraft types including commercial, private, and military aircraft.
Key Responsibilities
3. Creating design schemes and proposals meeting customer and regulatory requirements
4. Preparing CAD models and drawings using 3D CAD software
5. Producing detailed mechanical designs including specifications for:
6. Fabrication and manufacturing processes
7. Materials selection
8. Surface treatments
9. Fasteners and hardware
10. Liaising with production and installation teams
11. Conducting technical surveys and 3D scanning on aircraft
12. Preparing design documentation
13. Representing the organization to customers and authorities
Essential Requirements
14. Proven experience in EASA/CAA Part 21J Design work
15. Background in one or more: sheet metal structures, machined components, mechanism design, cabin interiors/monuments, avionics installations
16. Proficiency in 3D CAD software
17. Strong technical drawing skills (BS )
18. Excellent communication skills
19. Ability to work under pressure on multiple projects
20. Experience in conducting technical surveys on aircraft
Desirable
21. Engineering degree or equivalent
22. Engineering apprenticeship background
23. Experience with Autodesk Inventor (other 3D packages considered)
