As the year moves forward, so does business – and Agnew's Wind Services is expanding! We’re looking for entry-level Trainee Inspection Engineers to join our team and be part of the growing renewable energy sector.
This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone with a mechanical or electrical background looking to get into the wind industry. Whether you have previous experience in inspections or want to take your career in a new direction, we provide training and support to help you succeed.
Role: Trainee Statutory Inspection Engineer
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist in carrying out statutory inspections of pressure systems, lifting equipment, and other regulated machinery in accordance with industry standards (e.g., LOLER, PUWER, PSSR).
* Support in preparing reports detailing inspection findings and compliance status.
* Learn to identify potential hazards and recommend necessary remedial actions.
* Work alongside senior engineers to understand inspection techniques and regulatory requirements.
* Ensure all inspections are completed safely and efficiently, minimizing operational disruptions.
* Keep up to date with health and safety legislation and industry best practices.
* Attend relevant training and certification programs to develop technical competence.
What We’re Looking For:
* A mechanical or electrical background – any trade considered
* You must obtain your own GWO certifications (basic requirement)
* Strong work ethic, attention to detail & ability to work at height
* A team player with a proactive attitude
* Flexibility for travel – while we aim to have you home most nights, occasional overnight stays may be required (with accommodation provided and overnight allowance paid)
* A full UK driving license is required
