Responsibilities
The successful candidate will:

2. Develop and execute test cases for data pipelines, ETL/ELT workflows, and data transformations.
3. Assist in building and maintaining automated data validation and pipeline testing frameworks.
4. Validate infrastructure and platform-level components, including CI/CD pipelines and cloud-based data services.
5. Collaborate with data engineers, platform engineers, and DevOps teams to ensure quality is embedded throughout development.
6. Monitor and report on key quality metrics, identifying and addressing issues proactively.
7. Ensure adherence to data governance, security, and compliance requirements.
8. Work with business stakeholders to understand requirements and contribute to effective testing strategies.
9. Support the adoption of best practices for unit testing, integration testing, regression testing, and performance testing in a data environment.
Requirements
Candidates should have:
1. 3+ years of experience in data quality engineering, software testing, or test automation.
2. Familiarity with testing data pipelines, ETL/ELT workflows, and big data solutions.
3. Experience with cloud-based data platforms, preferably Azure Databricks, Azure Data Factory, or Synapse Analytics.
4. Basic experience with test automation frameworks (e.g., PyTest, Great Expectations, DBT tests, or similar).
5. Proficiency in SQL and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Scala) for test automation.
6. Understanding of CI/CD and DevOps practices, with exposure to Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins.
7. Knowledge of data governance, security, and compliance best practices.
8. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
9. Ability to collaborate effectively with engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders.
10. Experience working with infrastructure testing (e.g., Terraform validation, cloud monitoring) (preferred).
11. Experience in the insurance or financial industry (not essential, but preferred).
This role is an excellent opportunity for a Quality Engineer to contribute to ensuring the reliability and accuracy of data engineering and platform solutions in a modern, scalable Group Data Platform.
