Job Description
We are looking for a Teacher for a pre-internship programme at one of our clients' schools.
Pre-internships are a one-year programme for learners with EHCPs to progress onto Supported Internships the following year. The days would initially be Tuesdays & Fridays.
Our Pre-Internship programme is an opportunity for learners to develop employability skills in preparation for work and to think about the skills and qualities needed for working life while exploring job interests through work experience. The programme includes a mix of classroom activity, community visits, and work placements.
Overview of Curriculum Intent:
* Introduce students to a variety of career fields and industries.
* Help students identify their interests, strengths, and values.
* Provide opportunities for students to network with professionals in different fields.
* Enhance students' communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
* Develop professional etiquette and workplace ethics.
* Provide hands-on experience in a professional setting.
* Allow students to apply theoretical knowledge to real-world situations.
* Develop confidence and independence.
* Identify a Supported Internship placement.
In order to be successful in this role, you will need experience working with Special Educational Needs, ideally with a background in SEMH and knowledge of EHCPs.
Experience in teaching life/employability skills is desirable. You need to be resilient, engaging, and able to deal with challenging behaviours.
This role will be temporary initially, with the opportunity to secure a permanent position for the right candidate. This is a part-time role working Tuesday and Friday each week.
