Pukaki Flats Farming is a 50,000-stock unit operation with 2100 milking cows, young stock and winter grazing, 3000 dairy beef X, 3000 ewes and grazing of dairy and lambs for third parties. Situated at Simons Pass Station in the stunning Mackenzie Basin, we are dedicated to sustainable farming, innovative practices, and producing high-quality food and fibre.
We are seeking a focused General Manager to take the reins of this multi-faceted enterprise. Reporting directly to the owners, you will lead a skilled management team to ensure the success of the business through strategic leadership and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
1. Adapt, improve and execute the farm’s annual and long-term operating plans.
2. Provide leadership to the management team, including the Dairy Farm Manager, Sheep, Beef and Ag Manager, and Maintenance Manager.
3. Oversee farm performance, drive innovation, and optimise production while maintaining the highest standards of animal welfare, environmental stewardship, and workplace safety.
4. Improve on KPIs, monitor financial performance, and report regularly to the owners who live off farm.
5. Foster effective communication and collaboration across the management team, staff, customers, suppliers, neighbours and the local community.
