We are seeking a Band 8a Senior Clinical/Counselling Child Psychologist to join our busy and dynamic outpatient EWMHS (previously CAMHS) team in Redbridge on a permanent contract. We have a growing and supportive therapy team and we are looking for a psychologist who is passionate about young people’s mental health and well being to join us in the delivery of high quality and effective EWMHS interventions. This role requires a post-graduate qualified Clinical/Counselling Psychologist registered with the appropriate professional or regulatory body and have 2 years plus experience in delivering Psychological Therapies in a CAMHS setting. The post holder will be an effective team member, using their own initiative, supporting their peers and team lead. They will have a commitment to actively support, liaise with other professionals & agencies as we embed a trauma and culturally informed model of practice within the service. They will receive regular clinical supervision from the lead psychologist and will be expected to attend and participate in MDT team meetings. This role is suited to a candidate who is keen on service development, as well as managing a clinical caseload. Recent CPD organised for our team members include: DBT skills, TF-CBT & ADOS-2. Our team has strong links with the Trust Research & Development department. Provide an efficient, effective, comprehensive and specialist psychological service for children and adolescents with emotional and mental health problems, their carers/parents and families Contribute to multi-disciplinary assessment and treatment of children and adolescents with emotional and mental health problems, their carers/parents and families Undertake a range of highly specialist clinical work, urgent assessment work, parenting support and specialist cases. Provide extensive expert supervision and consultation on CYPMHS cases to other multi-disciplinary staff within CYPMHS, including junior medical staff. Contribute to audit and research Actively engage in treatment and outcome monitoring, including the use of normed measures associated with CYP-IAPT Work in clinical practice, making use of supervision, within the overall framework CYPMHS and the Trust’s policies and procedures Starting with NELFT NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop-in sessions focusing on engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex. Probationary Period This post will be subject to a probationary period. High-Cost Area Supplement This post also attracts payment for High-Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (minimum payment of £4,551 and a maximum payment of £5,735 per annum pro rata).
