SHE Advisor / Health Safety and Environment Advisor who has a passion for HS&E and improving the safety culture of workplaces, with good knowledge of UK Health and Safety legal requirements, and professionally qualified in H&S (NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent Level 3 qualification) is required for a well-established and leading manufacturing company based in Mobberley, Cheshire, North West England.
SALARY: £36,280 per annum + Benefits (see below)

JOB OVERVIEW
This is a great opportunity for a SHE Advisor / Health Safety and Environment Advisor with a passion for coaching, advising and enabling colleagues to thrive in a safe workplace.
Working as the SHE Advisor / Health Safety and Environment Advisor you will provide hands-on support to the SHE Manager and work alongside the SHE Technician. In this role, you will develop documentation and fulfil strategies for managing and reducing risks.
As the SHE Advisor / Health Safety and Environment Advisor you will also collaborate with managers across manufacturing, engineering, R&D and support functions and you will contribute to the production and timely review of documentation.
As part of the SHE team, you will carry out and support regular SHE inspections. In addition, you will follow-up incidents, near misses and accidents to ensure that appropriate actions are set and taken. You will be a key player in delivering SHE engagement and communication strategies and will be vital to developing the safety culture.
DUTIES
1. Support the preparation and regular review of policies, procedures, documentation and risk assessments for work equipment, plant, processes and operations.
2. Develop and review risk reduction strategies, ensuring the company complies with legislative requirements.
3. Carry out and support regular site inspections to check policies and procedures are being properly implemented. Analyse findings, produce reports, and suggest improvements.
4. Develop and deliver training for SHE across the business.
5. Follow-up incidents, near misses and accidents, ensure actions are followed-up in a timely manner and produce statistics for managers.
6. Keep up to date with new legislation and maintain a working knowledge of all developments that affect the employer's industry.
7. Aid in the development and maintenance of the SHE training matrix.
8. Advise and support site departments in fulfilling their SHE objectives.
9. Maintain records and ensure regular documentation reviews are completed.
10. Produce communications and toolbox talks suitable for delivery at all levels of the organisation.
11. Support the SHE Manager in preparing and delivering SHE activities and reports as required.
12. Support the management and control of PPE.
13. Deputise for the SHE Manager when required.
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
Essential:
1. Degree, NEBOSH Certificate or Level 3 qualification, or equivalent proven experience in UK H&S.
2. Proven knowledge of hazards, risks, risk assessments and near misses.
3. Will have proven experience of working within a UK company SHE function.
4. Strong communication skills (written and verbal), analytical ability, and problem-solving skills.
5. Good interpersonal skills and with a proven ability to influence people at all levels of an organisation.
6. The ability to organise, analyse and convey complex information in a simple way.
7. A passion for HS&E and improving the safety culture of workplaces; set a good example.
8. An investigative mind.
9. Excellent IT skills including Microsoft office and Sharepoint packages.
10. Attention to detail.
11. Ability to understand regulations, interpret them and apply them.
Desirable:
1. Experience with investigative and behavioural safety techniques.
2. Experience of working with a chemical and/or manufacturing environment.
