Our client is a leading developer of utility scale onshore wind, solar, and battery storage technologies across multiple European countries. The UK team currently has a key requirement for an ambitious Grid Connection Manager to support the identification and delivery of successful grid connection outcomes for their onshore wind, solar, and storage portfolio across Scotland and Wales. This is an office/hybrid role based in Edinburgh or Cardiff. Role Supporting the delivery of grid connection outcomes for utility-scale wind and storage projects in Scotland and Wales. Appointing and managing consultants to submit T&D grid connection applications (inc. BELLA/BEGA applications where appropriate) for generation (wind & solar) and battery storage sites, as well as amendments to existing applications for co-located sites. Managing the relationships with network operators DNOs /TNOs /NGET. Managing grid connection obligations and compliance for all connections. Maintaining awareness of grid connection reform. Input into strategy for identifying and securing new sites based on grid capacity (both generation and demand). Undertaking preliminary assessments and managing feasibility studies. Participating in project design to response grid capacity availability. Providing advice on managing grid connection budgets. Reporting on budget status, milestones, securities, liabilities. Requirements Degree in Electrical Engineering/ Power Systems. Previous experience in a technical role related to grid connections for electricity projects. Experience working on renewable energy projects, particularly solar, wind, and BESS. Familiarity with Grid Code/ENA G99 and G98 regulations. Strong communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders, network operators, and grid consultants.
