We are looking for an experienced Senior HR Advisor to join our HR team at Olive House in Westhill, Aberdeen. This is a hands-on operational role, providing day-to-day HR support across all areas of the company, including our offshore, onshore, and events operations.
You will play a key role in ensuring HR processes run smoothly, supporting managers with employee relations, absence management, recruitment, and compliance. You will also play a key role in guiding and supporting the HR team, ensuring consistency in HR practices.
Key Responsibilities:
* Act as the first point of contact for HR queries, providing guidance to managers and employees.
* Ensure the consistent application of HR policies and procedures across the business.
* Ensure adherence to employment law and company policies.
* Guide and advise managers on disciplinary, grievance, and capability cases, ensuring fair and consistent handling.
* Attend and support employee meetings, providing HR guidance where required.
* Support the preparation of formal HR documentation, including letters and case notes, ensuring accurate records of correspondence and communications are maintained.
* Accurately track and record sickness absence, supporting payroll processes.
* Support employees during periods of absence, managing absence reviews, return-to-work processes, and occupational health referrals.
* Provide guidance on long-term absence cases, ensuring compliance with statutory entitlements such as SSP, maternity, and parental leave.
* Ensure compliance with offshore medical and training requirements, coordinating with occupational health for fitness-to-work assessments and supporting offshore rotations, field breaks, and extended leave requests.
* Support the end-to-end recruitment process, from advertising roles to coordinating interviews and issuing contracts.
* Oversee onboarding and induction, ensuring compliance with HR policies and right-to-work checks.
* Maintain accurate HR system records, ensuring all employee data, updates, and changes are correctly recorded and compliant with internal processes.
* Maintain accurate HR records, reporting, and compliance tracking.
* Ensure accurate payroll data submission, including absence, overtime, and contractual changes, working closely with payroll to maintain accuracy and compliance.
* Ensure employee benefits are processed correctly in line with company entitlements, ensuring employees are enrolled and have access to their benefits, while maintaining benefit records for ongoing administration.
* Track mandatory training requirements, maintain training records, and support learning and development initiatives in collaboration with managers.
* Support with monthly and adhoc HR reporting, tracking key metrics such as absence trends and employee relations cases.
* Provide general HR administration support, maintaining accurate HR records and ensuring compliance with reporting requirements.
This role would suit an experienced HR professional with a background in an advisory or generalist role within a fast-paced environment. A strong understanding of HR processes, absence management, recruitment, and employee relations is essential.
Due to the structure of the team, this role requires someone who can provide guidance and support to HR colleagues, assisting with workload management, prioritisation, and operational activities. The role involves daily interaction with employees and managers, making it ideal for someone who enjoys working onsite in an operational HR environment.
