QHSE £55K 33 days holiday (inc BH) Fantastic opportunity to join an industry leader. Our client are a leading UK based manufacturer of electronic equipment for the rail and road industry. The main purpose of the QHSE role is to manage and report on all quality assurance processes and actions within the business. To create and deliver quality improvement initiatives and to maintain process and audits for compliance to Quality and EHS standards. Key responsibilities of the QHSE role: Manage the quality management processes and ensure they are being followed through internal audits. Ensure accreditation of the ISO9001 and VCA are maintained by keeping the procedures and processes updated and successfully audited. Obtaining and maintaining external certification for regulatory products (ERADIS/RISQS). These are for products that must be certified for use in the railway industry. The task is to perform the administration involved in gaining the certification. Maintain a good level of understanding of the applicable road and rail standards for lighting with the aim of ensuring product compliance. Review the quality requirments of new bids with sales for relevant customer enquiries. Close liaison with all members of the company management team who have direct responsibility for ensuring good customer services and product quality. Prepare metrics of customer returns and production quality. Lead the investigation of customer returns and warranty claims with internal team members. Follow the customer and internal reporting processes and corrective actions implementation. Supervise the Goods In Inspector and ensure nonconforming material is being contained and the supplier is managed to rectify the nonconformance. Manage the team responsible for warranty returns and repairs. Key Qualifications and experience required for the QHSE role: Experience with ISO 18001 and ISO 14001 standards. Strong knowledge of environmental regulations and occupational health and safety laws. Effective communication and training abilities. Certification in ISO 18001 and ISO 14001 auditing (preferred). Ability to create Risk Assessments, Safe Working Procedures and COSSH Assessments. Engineering background in electromechanical products. Management of small teams and encouraging colaboration. Driving improvements and good standards. Presentation to senior management Report writing. Negotiation with customers. Keep up with industry trends and best practices in quality and EHS management systems. Higher level Educated in an engineering qualification – Mechanical or Electronic. Proven experience as a Quality Manager with strong skills in QMS such as, ISO9001 or IATF16949. Experience as a senior quality engineer or a quality manager in Automotive or rail tier one suppliers. Qualification as an Internal Auditor
