Software Development Engineer, Amazon QuickSight
AWS Utility Computing (UC) provides product innovations — from foundational services such as Amazon’s Simple Storage Service (S3) and Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2), to consistently released new product innovations that continue to set AWS’s services and features apart in the industry. As a member of the UC organization, you’ll support the development and management of Compute, Database, Storage, Internet of Things (IoT), Platform, and Productivity Apps services in AWS. Within AWS UC, Amazon Dedicated Cloud (ADC) roles engage with AWS customers who require specialized security solutions for their cloud services.
Amazon QuickSight powers data-driven organizations with unified business intelligence (BI) at hyperscale. With QuickSight, all users can meet varying analytic needs from the same source of truth through modern interactive dashboards, pixel-perfect reports, embedded analytics, and natural language queries. With Amazon Q in QuickSight, business analysts and business users can use natural language to build, discover, and share meaningful insights in seconds, turning insights into impact faster.
We are looking for a full stack engineer with a strong sense of ownership and a passion for delivering creative solutions for complex problems on an unprecedented scale. In this role, you will build experiences, services, and tools for Amazon QuickSight. This role offers wide scope, autonomy, and ownership. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical and leadership experience to work with a team of rock star engineers to drive multi-year design and architecture decisions. In this role, you will make a worldwide impact on how our customers around the world analyze and visualize data.

In this role, you will:
1. Help define architecture, own and implement specific components, and help shape the overall experience.
2. Contribute to defining best practices.
3. Contribute to planning, design, implementation, testing, operations, and process improvement as a member of an autonomous team.
4. Take responsibility for technical problem-solving, creatively meeting product goals, and developing best practices.
5. Mentor and support the growth of other developers.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience.
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language.
- 3+ years of contributing to new and current systems architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
