Lancashire County Council is currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Qualified Social Worker to join its Duty and Assessment Team.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Conduct initial assessments.
• Manage a varied caseload of children and families in need of support.
• Work collaboratively with multi-agency professionals to safeguard children.
• Undertake home visits, build rapport with families, and ensure that appropriate interventions are put in place.
• Produce high-quality assessments and reports for management and court purposes.
• Respond swiftly to referrals, assessing risk and need to ensure timely and effective interventions.
Requirements
• Qualified Social Worker (Degree/Diploma in Social Work).
• Registration with Social Work England.
• Proven experience within a Duty and Assessment team or similar front-line social work.
• Strong understanding of child protection, safeguarding, and social work legislation.
• Ability to manage a complex caseload effectively while maintaining high-quality practice standards.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
• Car for work purposes.

Job Types: Full-time, Temporary
Pay: £37.00 per hour
Expected hours: 37 per week, 3 days in the office
