Senior Mechanical Design Engineer
Salary: £65,000 - £85,000 per annum.
About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team in Fareham. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing innovative mechanical solutions for our clients across the aerospace industry.
The successful candidate will have extensive experience in mechanical engineering, particularly in a leadership role, with a proven track record of successfully managing engineering projects from conception to completion.
You will work closely with internal and external customers, suppliers, and colleagues in mechanical, systems, and hardware disciplines to develop engineering solutions that meet project requirements while adhering to company processes.
* Key Responsibilities:
* Develop engineering solutions to meet project requirements, including schedule, quality, and cost considerations.
* Manage formal requirements allocated to mechanical systems and validate these requirements according to industry standards.
* Compile work estimates and plans to support project managers and proactively track progress, update plans, and adapt as projects develop.
* Mentor and develop apprentices, undergraduate interns, graduate engineers, and non-senior engineers to enhance their skills and increase department capacity.
About You:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
* Extensive experience in mechanical engineering, particularly in a leadership role.
* A proven track record of successfully managing engineering projects from conception to completion.
* Strong understanding of engineering principles, processes, and best practices.
* Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on innovation and quality.
* Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across different teams and disciplines.
