As an Underwriting Assistant, you will support the UK Company Platform Global Programmes function. You will be responsible for providing efficient and high-quality underwriting administration services to the UK Company Platform Underwriting businesses. Your role will involve supporting the end-to-end underwriting process through regular liaison with other functions to ensure the highest quality of service.
Essential Responsibilities
Submission/Renewal Phase:
1. Timely requests to offshore team for quote creation and name clearance activities.
2. Timely and accurate binding (or declinature) of quotes.
3. Use underwriting tools to support the underwriter in defining the structure of Global Programmes.
4. Participate in client/broker meetings to illustrate account implementation capabilities.
Implementation Phase:
1. Timely and accurate processing of premiums.
2. Proactive engagement with underwriting to ensure smooth account handover.
3. Ensure timely and high-quality implementation by means of related system procedures.
Maintenance Phase:
1. Ensure timely implementation of mid-term endorsements and issuance of certificates of insurance.
2. Act as an interface role between Underwriting and Local Policy Administration.
General Support:
1. Develop an internal network for facilitating the transfer of information and data.
2. Ensure data quality accuracy ratios at the defined level/metrics.
Required Skills and Experience
1. Proven experience of working on Global insurance programmes, preferably within Property, Liability, Marine or other Specialty lines.
2. Significant knowledge of underwriting processes.
3. Advanced knowledge of premium allocation principles and insurance accounting principles.
4. MS Office knowledge – particularly Excel.
You will report to the Operations Manager UK.
