Job Description: We are seeking an experienced Contract Manager to oversee and manage the delivery contracts for retail stores across the UK. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing delivery operations, ensuring compliance with service agreements, and working effectively with driver representatives and other key stakeholders. This role is pivotal in ensuring that our delivery processes run smoothly, cost-effectively, and in line with the company's high standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Contract Management:
* Responsible for Regional Distribution Centres based in Avonmouth and Stowmarket reporting to the Senior Contract Manager responsible for overseeing the service to retail stores via own fleet, third-party providers.
* Accountable for all operational and legal compliance and ensuring adherence to contractual terms and KPIs.
* Achieve or exceed service levels, budgets and ensure cost-effective service delivery.
* Liaise the Customer and hold regular performance reviews.
* Work in partnership with the 3rd party warehouse provider.
Retail Store Deliveries:
* Manage the operational logistics of retail store deliveries across the UK & ROI, ensuring timely and accurate service.
* Identify and resolve delivery issues or delays, maintaining excellent communication with stakeholders.
* Work closely with retail managers to understand store-specific delivery requirements and optimise operations.
People Skills:
* Ensure development of your direct reports and wider team.
* Build and maintain strong working relationships at all levels.
* Resolving disputes promptly and professionally.
* Provide guidance and support on labour relations issues, ensuring alignment with organisational policies.
Operational Oversight:
* Analyse delivery data to identify inefficiencies and implement process improvements.
* Collaborate with internal teams such as procurement, operations, and People & Culture to ensure service levels are met and exceeded.
* Drive adherence to health, safety, and regulatory compliance standards within delivery operations.
Requirements:
* Proven experience as a Contract Manager or in a similar role, with a focus on retail store deliveries in the UK & ROI.
* Strong negotiation, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams and departments.
* Knowledge of UK logistics regulations, retail delivery processes, and health and safety standards.
* Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and drive performance improvements.
Desirable requirements:
* Relevant qualifications in supply chain management, logistics, or a related field.
* Experience in budget management and financial analysis.
* Familiarity with retail operations and customer service principles.
