We have an opportunity for a Pharmacy Technician - Deputy Dispensary Manager to join our in-patient Pharmacy team based at Sunderland Royal Hospital. You will work alongside the Senior Technician - Manager for the in-patient dispensary assisting with the management of pharmacy dispensers, technicians, and pharmacy assistants. The Trust has invested in modern pharmaceutical facilities including full electronic prescribing with decision support, automated dispensaries and extensive 7-day clinical services to enhance the patients' experience of care by improving the quality, safety, and effectiveness of their medicines utilization. Main duties of the job
We are looking for a motivated individual who is team-oriented and shares our passion for improving patient care. You will need to be a Pharmacy Technician with relevant pharmaceutical qualifications and registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC). As a Deputy Dispensary Manager, you will work closely with Senior Technicians for Dispensary Services and assist with the management of a team of dispensers. You will work alongside our Clinical Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technicians, and Pharmacy Dispensing Assistants to provide integrated pharmaceutical care for service users in the Trust to ensure safe, appropriate, and cost-effective use of medicines. As part of the Pharmacy team, you will be required to contribute to the 7-day rota which includes weekends and late-night duties.
Job responsibilities
To work under the supervision of the Dispensary Manager for day-to-day management of the in-patient pharmacy. The post is not fixed to a particular dispensary and will require the post-holder to be rotated to the dispensaries mentioned as required by service needs. Overview of procurement and stock control is also a requirement of the post.
