Senior Manager - Strategic Financial Planning and Analysis - Crawley Job details Hours: 37.5 per week, Monday to Friday Location : Hybrid remote working, with 3 days a week in our VHQ, Crawley Contract: Permanent Closing Date: Sunday, 9th February 2025 In a nutshell As our Senior Manager - Strategic Financial Analysis & Insight, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping Virgin Atlantic's long-term financial planning. You'll be at the heart of strategic decision-making, leading the financial appraisal of key business initiatives-including fleet and network decisions, sustainability projects, and capital investments. Working closely with senior stakeholders, you'll provide valuable insights that drive financial success, ensuring we maximise profitability and enhance our competitive edge. Day to day No two days will be the same in this dynamic role. Your key responsibilities will include: Strategic Financial Planning - Overseeing the consolidated Medium and Long-Term Financial Planning agenda for Virgin Atlantic and Virgin Atlantic Holidays. Financial Appraisal & Business Cases - Leading the financial evaluation of strategic initiatives, collaborating with the Financial Modelling team to determine business impact. Consultancy & Value Creation - Working closely with Financial Controllers to provide in-depth reports, analysis, and central recommendations to drive value. Capital Expenditure Governance - Ensuring capital allocations are well-governed and aligned with business priorities. Competitor Benchmarking - Leading financial benchmarking against key competitors to inform decision-making. Cross-functional Leadership - Building strong relationships across departments, ensuring financial strategies align with business goals. Team Leadership - Managing and developing a high-performing team of 2 direct reports, fostering expertise, and ensuring succession planning. Financial Strategy & Control - Driving robust financial frameworks, ensuring effective governance, and providing insights to key stakeholders including the CFO and CEO. About you You're a strategic finance professional with a strong commercial mindset and a passion for delivering insights that drive business success. You'll have: Proven expertise in Corporate Finance, Consultancy, or Financial Planning, with a strong understanding of financing, capital structures, and profit maximisation. A professional accounting qualification (CIMA/ACCA/ACA) and experience leading finance teams in a commercial environment. Advanced Business and Corporate Finance knowledge, with a deep understanding of industry trends and competitive landscapes. Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and translate it into actionable insights. Strong stakeholder management and communication skills-able to build trust, influence at all levels, and present financial strategies to senior leaders. Experience in developing financial cases for complex business strategies, including scenario modelling at a corporate level. A track record of identifying and driving profit and cash improvement programmes. The ability to thrive under pressure, work to tight deadlines, and lead a high-performing team to success.
