The successful post holder will manage all aspects of fire safety across the organisation's assets ensuring services are maintained and improved.
The successful post holder will also support compliance with both statutory and non-statutory fire safety legislation and associated building regulations.
Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Ensuring the FRA programmes are delivered on time and to the required standard through the application of a quality assurance programme.
2. Ensuring compliance with legislation through the use of performance data, risk assessments, and audits of commercial/residential properties.
3. Acting as a subject matter expert for the company in relation to fire safety.
4. Supporting, developing, and maintaining the Housing Fire Risk Management Policy.
5. Acting as a resource and liaising with managers and staff at all levels within the Council to implement fire safety standards and initiatives.
6. Providing expert advice and guidance to managers and staff at all levels of the organisation and acting as a focal point for the management of fire safety issues.
7. Providing technical expertise to the Fire Safety Manager and the Fire Safety Team to enable their duties to be fulfilled effectively.
8. Challenging current contractors on the fire programmes running.
Working Hours: 37 per week, Monday - Friday
Requirements:
1. Fire safety qualification, NEBOSH or similar recognised Fire Safety Certificate Level 3 or Level 4 Diploma in Fire Safety.
2. Minimum 3 years' experience within the fire safety sector, property management, or a similar sector.
3. Experience of working in a building compliance or fire service environment.
4. Knowledge of the code of practice for fire safety in design, management, and use of residential buildings.
5. Knowledge of the Fire Risk Assessment process and guidance/best practice.
6. Specialist knowledge of fire safety legislation and its applications to housing.
