Job Description
This position is a target-based sales role encompassing the Midlands, Wales, and North West England. The successful candidate will be responsible for the relationship between the Microbiology Business Division and our customers. The role involves working with designated local accounts within Clinical and Veterinary microbiology segments.
Developing a robust business plan for the territory focused on meeting or exceeding your targets through driving profitable growth. Effective pricing management, understanding the power of 1%, forecasting, providing market feedback, and achieving customer happiness relative to sales activities will be part of the day-to-day activities.
This position will require an individual with a minimum of 1 year of commercial experience. The candidate should have strong business acuity and influencing skills with the ability to transform knowledge and ideas into results. This role demands an individual who is result-oriented, highly motivated to succeed, has an excellent work ethic, and maintains the highest level of integrity.

Requirements and Responsibilities:
1. Maintain and develop strategic relationships, improving corporate relationships and business with national accounts to advance microbiology division access and opportunities.
2. Business Development of new customers within the defined area to promote and sell microbiology products to targeted prospects while maintaining good product knowledge.
3. Develop and coordinate resources (Molecular and AST team) to provide comprehensive solutions to drive growth in these product areas.
4. Own strategic relationships to identify new business opportunities and support geographic account activities.
5. Implement preferred provider relationships and strategic partnerships to demonstrate the MBD and Thermo product portfolio.
6. Develop opportunities to meet revenue commitments.
7. Account Management Planning - Conduct analysis of industry trends and customer applications to assess potential demands that clients may have. Develop short, medium, and long-term strategies that result in improving opportunities to increase sales.
8. Commercial Process Management - Lead contractual processes including confidentiality agreements, preferred provider/master services agreements, pricing agreements, and tender submissions.
9. Reporting - Provide account status reports as required - integrate Sales Force.com as part of daily work to ensure accurate reporting.
10. Continuous Improvement - Find opportunities for standardized work, and improvement of quality and service with the customer base. Formulate and implement action plans for continuous improvement.
11. Lead or implement other activities as the need arises by the company.
* Highly Advantageous Requirements/Qualifications:
* Relevant sales experience and track record of over-delivery, strong intuition for business and customer focus.
* Proven track record of promoting teamwork and working optimally across multiple business functions and networks internally.
* Demonstrates positive relationship management and tendering/negotiation skills.
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications
1. Full Clean Driving License (Travel will be minimal 75% spent on territory). Longer periods of travel for company business & meetings will be needed on an ad hoc basis.
2. Must live on territory - Preferably in the Birmingham or Manchester area.
3. Minimum 1 year's commercial experience and selling in similar technological areas.
4. Excellent communication and presentation skills.
5. Relevant skills/experience in a similar market environment.
6. Degree in Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry or related field with experience with Microbiology Products.
7. Proficient in English.
