Casual Animal Care Assistant - Bridgend College Students Only
Salary: Salary Scale 1 - £12.66 per hour
Contract Type: Casual (working hours are on an ad-hoc basis)
Please note: This opportunity is aimed at the existing student body of Bridgend College.
You will perform general animal care duties and assist in the preparation of practical equipment for use in the centre and lectures. Your duties will include (but are not limited to):
1. General animal care duties (mucking out, administering basic medication, feeding, and watering of stock, etc.)
2. Assist with and update animal centre records
3. Assist with the maintenance of the animal care enclosures and associated areas
4. Assist with the health, welfare, and euthanasia of all the stock, as required
5. Assist with the preparation, maintenance, and storage of equipment for practical sessions
You will have experience in practical husbandry of large and small animals, including exotics and aquatics, and you will also possess (or be working towards) a Level 3 qualification in an animal-related subject, or equivalent.
