The Company:
We are currently recruiting for a Supply Chain Sustainability Manager to play a crucial role in helping to ensure that operations align with the highest ethical standards, contributing positively to sustainability initiatives. You will be responsible for collaborating across functions in the development and implementation of strategies to promote ethical conduct and sustainability practices throughout the supply chain operations, particularly in dealings with China, India, and Hong Kong.
The Role:
* Help develop the company’s sustainability strategy.
* Create a plan for the delivery of the sustainably initiatives.
* Engage with suppliers to promote sustainable practices, ensure ethical sourcing and responsible production/ packaging methods.
* Maintain documentation in relation to packaging, FSC sourcing, plastic packaging and provide information to stakeholders and customers as required.
* Support for the day-to-day operations of the companies’ ethical audit programme- supporting actioning ratings, suspensions.
* Provide communication to keep the business updated on ethical and sustainable programs.
* Management of the new factory approval process end-to-end. This includes overseeing timely audit scheduling, managing documentation and communication supporting suppliers and factories through the approval process.
* Lead efforts to assess the ethical and sustainability performance of suppliers in China, India, and Hong Kong. This includes evaluating labour conditions, environmental practices, and social impact.
* Oversight of the existing factory audit process including onboarding and offboarding according to ACT and other responsible exit protocols/ requirements.
* Supporting the governance of external stakeholder relationships (e.g. third-party audit service providers).
* Develop training programs and provide guidance to internal teams and suppliers on ethical and sustainability standards, best practices, and compliance requirements.
* Conduct regular audits and assessments to monitor compliance with ethical and sustainability standards across the supply chain. Identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as necessary.
* Stay informed on regulations and trends: Keep abreast of relevant regulations, industry trends, and emerging issues related to ethical sourcing and sustainability in the UK, China, India, and Hong Kong.
* Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including suppliers, government agencies, industry associations, and non-profit organisations, to promote collaboration and exchange best practices.
* Prepare reports and communicate performance metrics related to ethical and sustainability initiatives to internal and external stakeholders.
Skills Required:
* Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role, with a focus on ethical sourcing, sustainability, or corporate social responsibility.
* Understanding of ethical sourcing principles, sustainability frameworks, and industry standards.
* Experience working with suppliers in China, India, and Hong Kong, with knowledge of regional regulations and cultural nuances.
* Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess complex supply chain issues and develop effective solutions.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
* Proven project management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks, meet deadlines, and drive results.
* Certification in relevant areas such as CSR, sustainability, or auditing is a plus.
