Exciting Temp to Perm Opportunity
Axcis are working in close partnership with a new specialist SEND setting based near Slimbridge in Gloucestershire that provides education for secondary aged pupils with an EHCP for Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) as well as Autism and Attachment disorder. They are looking for a full-time Youth Support Worker to start ASAP and continue until the end of the academic year for the right candidate.
At this fantastic, brand new setting, every curriculum is tailored to each student based on their hobbies, interests, and skills, and the school has a very holistic approach to the support they provide. This is a secondary setting currently supporting ages year 9 - year 11 with plenty of opportunity for expansion once the right staffing is in place.
The classrooms are diverse - from their brand new onsite provision to community facilities, to the child’s home environment if needed. Each child has a bespoke curriculum consisting of the core offer (Maths, English, and Science) and a selection of foundation subjects alongside a wide range of activities and experiences both on and off-site, for example, woodwork, animal care, horticulture, and various sporting activities.
The hours for this role are Monday to Friday 08:30-4:00, with students leaving at 2:00 PM daily, but the following hours will be spent on CPD, team briefings, handovers, etc. Everyone is part of the team, and inclusivity is felt throughout the school. The school is looking for people to start ASAP and ideally look to be taken on permanently should they be a good fit, so this is an exciting prospect for anyone looking for a permanent full-time position.
The pay is very competitive; between £90 - £105 per day depending on previous experience, and you will initially be paid a week in arrears every Friday while with Axcis. If you are someone with personal and/or professional experience with SEMH, Autism, or Attachment disorder, someone who is compassionate, reliable, caring, adaptable, resilient, and a team player, then do get in touch by either applying online or emailing Suzie@axcis.co.uk.
If you are interested, then please click on the apply button and contact Suzie Sage on 0117 4722400 | Ext: 2009.
