SEN Teaching Assistant Location: West Bromwich, Birmingham B71 Pay Rate: £(Apply online only) per week, after deductions Days: Monday to Friday (Term Time Only) Hours: 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM Start Date: ASAP Contract: Long-Term, Temp to Perm Long Term Futures is looking for a dedicated and resilient SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with complex needs, including ASD, ADHD, and communication difficulties, at a welcoming and inclusive primary school in West Bromwich, Birmingham B71. This long-term role has the potential to become permanent for a candidate who is committed to promoting a structured and nurturing learning environment. Responsibilities: Provide 1:1 and small group support, ensuring pupils can access learning in a way that suits their individual needs Implement strategies to aid communication, sensory regulation, and emotional well-being Use visual aids, structured routines, and positive reinforcement to encourage engagement and independence Support pupils through transitions and routine changes, reducing anxiety and promoting stability Apply positive behaviour management strategies to de-escalate situations and encourage self-regulationCandidate Requirements: A Level 2 or 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning (or equivalent experience in an SEN setting) Experience working with children with ASD, ADHD, and other complex learning needs Knowledge of PECS, Makaton, sensory strategies, and structured interventions is desirable A solid understanding of safeguarding procedures and best practices in child protectionAbout the School: Located in the West Bromwich (B71) area, committed to supporting pupils with additional needs.
