JOB TITLE: Lecturer - Animal Care (Sessional) LOCATION: Wisbech HOURS: Ad Hoc SALARY: £25.06 - £31.61 (£29,785 - £37,561 FTE) Due to increasing student numbers, we are looking for an additional Lecturer to deliver animal care courses. Our specialist companion animal care centre is growing and is currently home to over 150 animals ranging from livestock to exotic animals, small and large, which our staff and students have regular access to. Our animals include birds, reptiles, amphibians, and mammals. Our animal care courses ensure that our students leave us with the scientific, practical and administrative skills they need for their careers in animal care. In addition, our Wisbech campus also boasts a wide range of facilities including indoor our very own dog grooming parlour, hair and beauty salons and has recently benefitted from investment of over £10million to improve and develop our site including a £5.5million project to build and improve our teaching and social spaces. You will teach and develop a range of classes and courses within the Faculty and Programme Area. You must a have Level 3 qualification in Animal Care or in a related subject and have relevant industry experience. What matters most to us is your passion for animals and your ability to motivate and engage with our students; holding a teaching qualification is preferred, however we will support you to achieve this if you do not already hold this (Diploma in Education/DTLLS/Cert Ed/PGCE). You must hold a Level 2 English and Maths (GCSE A-C/9-4) or equivalent or be willing to obtain within 18 months of employment. Appointments will not normally be made at point 10 or above (£32,384 FTE) without a level 5 teaching qualification and experience.
