Project Engineer (Process Plant) WHAT YOU WILL DO You will be part of a team of engineers collaborating across functions, from HSE, Production, Quality, Supply Chain and maintenance. The interaction will be within the Belper plant and across Group functional departments in other manufacturing plants. Specification of equipment, quotation phase through to launch overseeing installation and commissioning of bulk compressed gases/refrigerant storage and delivery systems and chemical handling systems for a new production hall and lines. Management of the overall detailed timing plans for process plant related systems and ensure all milestones are met. Manage the processing projects with both internal and external parties to gain the required safety approvals and installation sign off. Contractor selection, management and control. Manage the project financials, raise all required CAPEX approvals and work with purchasing to ensure all required POs are raised on time. Work with NPI Project engineers to ensure all project requirements are met on time. Liaise with Group Engineering regarding lessons learned and standards from other sites. Manage and present data to various levels of the organisation and key stakeholders. WHAT YOU BRING ALONG A background in an engineering discipline is required and the relevant practical experience in a manufacturing environment ideally within the chemical / processing industry. Educated to degree level in chemical engineering or mechanical engineering. Be an expert within the field of technical process safety for compressed gases, flammables and other chemicals. Strong knowledge of DSEAR and ATEX requirements. Material knowledge of gases, chemicals, COSHH, and experience in leading the business in managing its responsibilities. Considerable knowledge of Process Safety and experience in developing systems to monitor and improve business awareness and controls. Project management experience, delivering complex technical process safety projects managing multiple contractors. A proven track record as a process / project engineer delivering significant value to an organisation. Ability to work effectively and communicate with cross-functional teams A practical approach to problem solving using A3 / 8D problem solving methodology, analytical with experience.
