With a clear purpose to ‘Define Futures’ by ensuring that every student moves into a positive destination, the City of Wolverhampton College is looking for a Governor with further education expertise to support this mission.
About City of Wolverhampton College
City of Wolverhampton College currently operates from two main campuses in Wolverhampton – Paget Road and Wellington Road – and delivers over 300 different qualifications through a range of full-time and part-time courses, including apprenticeships and HE. We also have specialist provisions for polymer training, rail and electric vehicle maintenance delivered from satellite sites at Telford, Dudley and Bentley Bridge (Wolverhampton).
Exciting plans to further develop the College through the City Learning Quarter project will see Paget Road close and provision move to the City Centre. This new campus is expected to open in September 2025. In September 2024, Engineering and Automotive courses will move into brand new, state-of-the-art facilities recently constructed at Wellington Road. The College continues to evolve and develop its curriculum offer, taking account of the needs of the local community, employers and stakeholders such as the West Midlands Combined Authority, as well as changes in Government policy, including the introduction of T Levels. More details of the College curriculum and its strategic plans can be found on the College website .
The Board has recently appointed Louise Fall as the new Principal and Chief Executive with effect from 1 August 2024. Louise was previously Deputy Principal and, in this role, has been instrumental in shaping the strategy of the College and developing its curriculum and quality strategies.
As an education provider, the College is subject to periodic inspection by Ofsted. The most recent inspection took place in January 2023, and the College was rated ‘Good’ overall. A copy of the inspection report is available on the College website .
City of Wolverhampton College is a College incorporated via the Further and Higher Education Act 1992 and is an exempt charity. Since 29 November 2022, alongside other FE colleges, the College is designated as part of the UK public sector.
