Key responsibilities for the position include:
1. Health & Safety – always work safely and demonstrate compliance to H&S laws, legislation, and procedures. Work with the authority to stop lines and processes if there is a H&S concern. Support adverse weather site management to ensure the safety of all staff. Specific training will be provided in specialist areas such as confined spaces.
2. Plant equipment - Ensure equipment runs efficiently and down times are minimised so that the plant runs to production plan and reliability is increased. This includes carrying out preventative, reactive, and planned maintenance schedule, daily plant start-up contribution to continuous improvement projects and carrying out root cause analysis. Ensure all maintenance stock items are available within reason, monitor stock levels and manage orders.
3. Projects – support and contribute to continuous improvement projects and capital investment projects
4. Site Security – Responsibility for locking and unlocking the site during weekends, shutdowns and out of hours working
5. Contractors – Work/Liaise with services contractors and specialists contractors and support the MRO team with the planning and coordination of contractors.
6. Engineering Processes – Ensure correct input of information to the CMMS system (computerised maintenance management system). Create and review SOI’s and risk assessments. Maintain the Engineering OEM information/manuals library. Maintain good housekeeping.
7. Communication – Provide clear and concise shift updates to the Engineering Shift Team Leader and participate in relevant communication or support meetings. Contribute/supply information to the Engineering Shift Team Leader to produce work planners, monthly reports and shutdown plans. Communicate updates to various staff across site when applicable (including the engineering manager)
The successful person must have:
8. Time served (apprenticeship) mechanical biased maintenance engineer.
9. Practical experience of working in a manufacturing environment
10. Experience of working within a process-oriented environment
11. Fault finding and root cause analysis experience.
12. A pro-active approach and mindset to contribute within a continuous improvement culture.
13. Excellent communication skills – written and verbal.
14. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and trust with all colleagues at all levels.
15. Be able to work flexibly from time to time, as required to suit the business needs.
16. Experience of using IT packages such as Microsoft and CMMS (computerised maintenance management system)
The selection process for the position will include an Interview and Psychometric Testing
