Our mission is to support and empower people to live their best lives by delivering trauma-informed services across prevention, intervention, and support. Position Overview The Outpatient Counseling Intern will work directly with licensed clinicians to support the delivery of mental health counseling services to individuals, couples/partners, and families. This internship provides hands-on, supervised experience in a trauma-informed, client-centered environment. Interns will contribute to case planning, therapeutic interventions, and continuity of care, while gaining insight into the delivery of behavioral health services in a community-based setting. This is an ideal placement for students pursuing degrees in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or related fields who are seeking practical experience aligned with licensure requirements. Key Responsibilities Support the provision of outpatient mental health services under supervision, including assessments, treatment planning, and therapeutic sessions. Assist in facilitating group counseling sessions (e.g., trauma, anger management, LGBTQIA support, body positivity, substance use). Observe and participate in crisis response and care coordination as appropriate. Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with agency and ethical standards. Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., Peer Recovery, Military Family Clinic, Art & Play Therapy) and external partners (e.g., CPS, hospitals) to ensure comprehensive care. Attend weekly clinical supervision, team meetings, and training opportunities to enhance learning. Participate in case consultations and discussions focused on trauma-informed care and client empowerment. Preferred Qualifications Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or related discipline. Strong interest in trauma-informed care, mental health, and community-based services. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
