Main duties of the job Applications are invited for a full-time (10PAs) Consultant Orthogeriatrician to work in the department of Trauma and Orthopaedics. The Department of Trauma & Orthopaedics has 3 dedicated ward areas (Harvey Ward, Phoenix Ward and Ocelot Ward which includes 14 protected ultra clean elective beds). They are situated in the new extension at the Medway Maritime Hospital (Level 3 Green Zone) commissioned in March 1999. A Surgical High Dependency Unit was opened in 2006 and a Surgical Assessment Unit was opened in 2005. Presently, the Department of T&O consists of 15 Orthopaedic Consultants, 1 Orthogeriatric Consultant, 5 Specialist Trainees (KSS Deanery), SAS Doctors, Foundation doctors and SHO's.
