Rural Accountant (Tax Focus) - Opportunity at Old Mill
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Rural Accountant with a focus on tax to join our Rural Team, supporting our Senior Rural Advisers with a diverse and growing portfolio of rural businesses.
What you'll do:
1. Handle tax-specific work within the rural portfolio, collaborating with Rural Advisers and liaising with the Tax Team to deliver effective tax services and enhance client experience.
2. Work closely with the Rural Advisers and team to meet deadlines and compliance requirements for rural businesses.
3. Assist in preparing tax reports, accounts, and non-compliance work to support the Rural Advisers and ensure seamless client service.
4. Review and oversee tax returns and accounts, providing accurate and timely advice tailored to rural clients.
5. Identify opportunities to add value through practical tax solutions, collaborating with specialists when needed.
6. Build and maintain strong relationships with rural clients, advising on tax and broader accountancy matters.
This role is ideal for an accountant passionate about the rural sector and tax. Prior rural experience is beneficial but not essential; a drive to support rural clients and help them succeed is key.
Requirements:
The candidate should have a solid accountancy background with experience in handling tax aspects of client work. Excellent communication skills to build relationships with clients and colleagues are essential. Previous practice experience and the ability to manage multiple client accounts and deadlines effectively are also required.
