This post will work predominantly across Heartlands and Solihull hospitals and will include input to our newly opened Elective Surgery Hub at Solihull. You will be working as part of a friendly supportive team and will have the support from band 7 leadership team to provide guidance in developing both your clinical and leadership skills which in turn could help fast track your options for future career progression.
Our surgical caseload includes some colorectal and general surgery, ENT, vascular surgery, T& O and urology. The diverse patient group offers real opportunities to find and develop your area of interest within a supportive environment.
In addition to clinical caseload you will have the opportunity to lead on service development and quality improvement projects to improve patient care delivery. There will also be a focus on progressing leadership skills. Your development is very important to us and encouragement will be given to support you to thrive in this role. Main duties of the job
Experience in an acute NHS hospital setting and a good knowledge of nutrition support is essential. Close multi-professional working will be required, with excellent communication and time management skills.
An integral part of the role will involve developing your specialist dietetic skills as well as assisting with supervision of Band 5 dietitians, therapy support workers and students. In this post there will be opportunity to build on your leadership skills and shape your career according to your area of interest.
Organisation, flexibility and an ability to problem solve and apply clinical reasoning effectively are essential as you will be working in a fast-paced and busy environment. If you are a motivated and driven individual who is keen to contribute to the development of our dietetic department we look forward to receiving your application!
