Salary: £45,000 – £50,000
Location: Winnersh
Full time: 37.5 hours
Part time: 20, 25 or 30 hours
8am – 5:30pm
My client based in Winnersh is seeking a Paraplanner to join their team who will be responsible for developing financial solutions that fulfill the outcomes our clients are seeking. You would be working alongside the Financial Planning Team to prepare recommendations and suitability reports. This may include maintaining full client records, data gathering, application form preparation, and submission.
Duties
1. Have the vision and ability to write two multipension and investment suitability reports per week, or five simple suitability or review reports per week, for our HNW Clients.
2. Put the Client needs and outcomes first in every situation, in a fully compliant manner.
3. Lead the preparation of suitability reports for approval by the Financial Adviser, and prepare associated documentation as required.
4. Work with the Administration Team to ensure all information is available for a suitability report to be produced, including the pre-completion of documentation ready for clients to check and sign.
5. Responsible for day-to-day paraplanning tasks, identifying what’s required, where client cases have information missing or outstanding actions.
6. Work with the advisers and administrative team to obtain this information and subsequently write a suitability report ready for adviser approval.
7. Act as a Paraplanning mentor for less experienced team members.
8. Record any client communications (whether that communication is written, oral, or electronic) including client-related communications with third parties.
9. Identify areas for financial planning and develop solutions suitable to meet the client’s needs and objectives, including the preparation of tax calculations where necessary.
10. Provide support with administrative functions, such as new business processing, income matching, collating and providing management information, and organizing future planning meetings with Clients on behalf of the Financial Adviser.
11. Liaise with product providers and other third parties to acquire any additional information required to assess the client’s needs and to help formulate any recommendations made by the adviser.
Skills and Knowledge
1. 5 years Paraplanning experience.
2. Level 4+ Financial services qualifications; RO exams are preferable.
3. Ability to achieve agreed outcomes without supervision.
4. Excellent interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
5. Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
6. Fully competent in all major desktop applications (proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, etc.).
7. Previous experience using report writing software is a distinct advantage.
8. Previous experience of all the main Platforms and IO will be advantageous.
