On 1 April 2019 Cwm Taf University Health Board changed its name to Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board as it took responsibility for providing healthcare services for the people in the Bridgend County Borough area. Cwm Taf Morgannwg UHB now provides primary, community, hospital, and mental health services to the 450,000 people living in three County Boroughs Bridgend, Merthyr Tydfil, and Rhondda Cynon Taf.
Ideally situated between Wales' capital city, Cardiff, to the south, the coastal town of Porthcawl to the west, and the stunning scenery of the Brecon Beacons to the north, we operate within a vibrant community, rich in history and heritage.
Services will continue to be delivered across a network of Community Clinics, Health Centres and Community Hospitals supported by three District General Hospitals: Princess of Wales hospital in Bridgend, Prince Charles hospital in Merthyr Tydfil, and Royal Glamorgan hospital in Llantrisant.

Job Overview
We are looking to recruit a highly motivated, enthusiastic Deputy Team Leader to join our new Day Surgery Unit that will open in May 2025.
The successful individual will be required to support the existing Deputy Team Leader and deputise in the absence of the Manager.
We are involved in caring for patients in several specialities including General Surgery, Gynaecological procedures, ENT, Max-Fax, Urology & Orthopaedics. We also support patients in the management of the pain service and those involved with our Learning Disability Community Dental services.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

The range of assigned tasks will be carried out with the highest standard to support and enable qualified staff to provide patient care, which reflects the quality of standards and mission of Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board (CTMUHB).
The post holder will be required to carry out a range of assigned tasks involving direct and indirect care for the benefit of the patient/client in accordance with agreed protocols. The range of responsibilities will be in support of and supervised by a registered nurse, and will involve rotation as appropriate to the needs of the service in consultation with the post holder and in accordance with Local Service Agreements.
The post holder will be responsible for ensuring that all policies and procedures are observed, and meet the CTMUHB requirements contained in the Health and Safety Policy.
They will also be expected to assist in the development of policies relevant to the speciality.
