Key Responsibilities: Ensure smooth flow of documents and correspondence in and out of the department. Type legal documents from hand-written notes or digital dictation. Scan, email, and fax correspondence and documents as required. Manage file opening, closing, and filing of all relevant documents. Prepare photocopies and trial bundles. Answer routine phone calls, take messages, and manage new enquiries. Organize internal and external meetings by managing Fee Earner diaries. Undertake online searches (TM / Search Choice). General typing, including completion statements, searches, and Land Registry forms. Provide support to other secretaries across the firm, as needed. Other reasonable duties as assigned. Specialist Skills Required: Excellent IT skills, particularly in Word. Basic PowerPoint and Excel knowledge would be useful. Experience working with Practice Management Systems is an advantage. Strong telephone skills and professional communication. Personal Skills Required: Interest in legal matters and commitment to confidentiality. Well-organised, conscientious, and able to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to work under pressure and manage time effectively to meet deadlines. Strong grammar and communication skills, both spoken and written. Attention to detail and accuracy. Enjoy interacting with others, displaying tact, patience, and understanding. Professional appearance. Qualifications & Education: Good standard of general education, especially in English. Numerate and literate with strong word processing skills/qualifications.
