What you'll be doing
The Forward Planning Manager leads the TV Weeklies’ two-person Forward Planning department within the wider TV Content Creation team. You will report to the TV Content Director and provide a top-class information service to our three TV Weeklies — What’s On TV, TV Times, and TV & Satellite Week — plus whattowatch.com .
Main responsibilities include researching and providing forward planning information from the main channels, satellite and streaming services and keeping the TV Team aware of any major changes. You will also take charge of the TV schedules in a forward planning capacity.
Great communication and writing skills are important as the job requires excellent contacts with schedulers, press officers, and publicists, and inputting advanced information into our systems. You’ll liaise with our Deputy Forward Planning Manager and editorial teams and you will lead our weekly conference meetings, providing a full list of advanced information.
As line manager to our Deputy Forward Planning Manager, you’ll collaborate with them and will cover their role when they are absent. You’ll attend forward planning showcase events held by the major channels and streaming services (some are evening-based).
You will have experience in the TV media environment, leading a TV publication’s editorial department or forward planning team, or have had a senior role in publicity at a main TV channel or publicity agency specialising in TV shows.

* Must have a strong interest in all genres of television shows and productions.
* Have a contacts list for all important players in the publicity teams at the main channels, streaming services and publicity agencies.
* Have worked as a line manager, with good managerial skills.
* Be a great ambassador for our brands.
