About the Role:
As a Group Engineer in Highways Services, you will play a crucial role in managing teams and delivering a variety of highway and transportation projects. Reporting to the Highway Compliance and Performance Manager, your key responsibilities will include:
* Developing and implementing a Highway Procurement Strategy.
* Planning and developing contract documentation.
* Managing existing contracts and ensuring Value for Money (VfM).
* Overseeing contract performance and compliance.
* Leading and managing a team with minimal supervision.
* Engaging with internal and external stakeholders.
About You:
We are looking for a Group Engineer with the following essential skills and experience:
* Extensive experience in street works coordination and management.
* Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations in the construction industry.
* Proven ability to manage large-scale contracts and ensure compliance.
* Excellent leadership skills to manage and develop teams.
* Strong project management skills, with experience in budget and resource management.
* Ability to communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders.
* Experience in collaborative working with external organizations such as the West Yorkshire Combined Authority.
