Practice Nurse/New to General Practice Nurse
We are looking to recruit a motivated, committed and enthusiastic Registered Nurse who would have an interest in training to become a Practice Nurse or an experienced Practice Nurse to join our Practice team.
The successful candidate will need to be highly motivated with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. They will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of safe and effective nursing care to the whole practice population, working closely with the GPs, ACPs, Pharmacists, Practice Manager, and nursing team to deliver the practice working priorities.

Main duties of the job
Clinically, the focus of the role is management of patients with long-term conditions and general nursing interventions for all patients. It would be desirable if you have knowledge of COPD & Asthma management, Diabetes management, Hypertension, family planning/contraception, cervical cytology, childhood immunisations, and vaccines. If not, full training will be provided both internally and externally.

Aspull Surgery is a well-established, two-partner GP Practice in the small village of Aspull, Wigan, with a list size of 6000 patients. Our clinical team currently includes GPs, an ACP (from next year), Practice Nurses, Pharmacists, along with a supportive administrative and reception team. We also have ARRS roles working with us including a First Contact Physiotherapist. We have recently become a teaching practice which we hope to expand on. There is a strong team atmosphere and a focus on continuous development throughout the surgery.
We have recently moved into a brand new, state-of-the-art building that enhances both the working environment and patients' experience.
Job responsibilities
To be responsible for the delivery of practice nursing services, working as part of the practice team, delivering care within their scope of practice. The practice nurse will be responsible for a number of clinical areas such as health promotion, chronic disease management, health prevention, immunisations and travel vaccines, infection control, safeguarding, well woman and well man management, as well as supporting the management team in the reviewing of clinical policies and procedures.
