Studios Leavesden (WBSL) is a purpose built, state-of-the-art film and television studio offering one of the largest facilities in the UK. This 200-acre secure site has half a million square feet of stage space, production offices and workshops together with an exterior filming tank, one of the largest indoor heated underwater filming tanks in Europe and a 100 acre back-lot. WBSL has some of the largest sound stages in the UK and is proving to be a very popular facility for production clients. WB Leavesden Park, adjacent to the Studio, offers modern and flexible office space for Production Companies. The site also has its own, on-site Set Lighting & Rigging rental division, which provides the industry with state-of-the-art lighting equipment, scaffolding and production supplies for stage and location shoots. WB De Lane Lea based in Soho, London, provides state of the art facilities in audio post-production for feature films and television. WBSL also have an onsite childcare facility available to WB employees, onsite productions called The WonderWorks and Zone10 - an onsite gym facility to support the physical and mental wellbeing of all our employees. These facilities make Warner Bros. Entertainment the only Hollywood studio to own and operate a production and post-production facility in the UK. Your New Role As part of the Facilities Technician team at WBSL, you will be delivering a varied scope of work such as; repairing fixtures and fittings, tackling practical tasks, basic carpentry, fitting shelves, hanging wall installations, door repairs,, working at heights, operating machinery both hand held and driving MEWPS, performing setup and clean-up tasks around site and decorating offices, kitchens, sound stages, walk ways, external walls. You will be monitoring the aesthetics of the site and actively keeping it looking well maintained. Working closely with the Maintenance team, you will be responsible for coordinating the issuing of jobs to the facilities technician team ensuring that the property/premises are maintained to a high standard and to always ensure safe working practices. You will be organising workflows ensuring team members understand their duties, setting goals in weekly team meetings, monitoring team productivity, providing constructive feedback, and coaching, resolve issues and serve as a link between cross functional disciplines and management team. As the Lead you will manage the team in all areas from auditing and allocating work, to approving shift swaps, approving holiday requests, disciplinary issues, mentoring, training, leading by example in all areas working alongside the team demonstrating strong work ethics and skill set. The role will primarily be based at the Leavesden site but from time to time you may be required to work off site. Your Role Accountabilities Plan, organize and execute/carry out planned and reactive maintenance tasks. Supervise, instruct, and train the team to perform tasks to industry standards, taking responsibility to successfully complete specific tasks and activities with a proactive approach. Monitor H&S compliance, such as correct PPE being worn, as per the H&S at Work Act and WBSL H&S Policy. React to all emergencies with a view to implement a permanent fix or a temporary safe fix to reduce down-time, working through an escalate process for a quick resolution. Primary contact for all Facilities tech team emergency calls, follow escalation process for a quick resolution. Oversee and manage in house rota's, holidays requests, sickness cover, time & attendance Ensure that the Facilities Technician team are trained and have training records on all equipment used/required in their day to day from abrasive tools, manual handling to IPAF qualification etc. Point of contact Out Of Hours (OOH) to assist the on site team with any queries or issues. Ensure critical spares and operational spare parts are always kept in stock, this includes tools assigned to you. Qualifications & Experiences Practical Training/Apprenticeship Multi Trade Experience CSCS Card IPAF/Forklift certification Supervisory or Management experience within in the construction industry or facilities or equivalent. Strong understanding of COSHH. Must hold a full UK driving license. Capable of dynamic risk assessing activities being undertaken Qualifications in one or more trades of the following City & Guilds Construction Qualifications Building Construction Qualifications Proficient in Decorating and/or Qualification Ground works/Drainage experience Working Pattern You will be required to work a 40-hour week on a rota shift pattern. You will also be required to work evenings and weekends in line with the operating hours of the studio and the studio tour this includes working some bank holidays. There will be a requirement to respond to emergencies in and out of normal working hours. Onsite Working - This role is advertised as Onsite, meaning all working hours and days (regardless of shift pattern) will be carried out at the place of work. Subject to any applicable laws, WBD / your Line Manager reserves the right to change this working agreement, where this is essential to business needs and upon reasonable notice to you.
