Band 6/ 7 Paediatric Occupational Therapist- Somerset

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and skilled Paediatric Occupational Therapist to join a dynamic team based in Somerset. This position offers a part-time role, providing the chance to work with children aged 5 to 18 years, delivering high-quality therapy to support their developmental and functional needs.
Location: Somerset
Salary: £28-35 per hour (depending on experience)
Hours: Part-Time (within term time)
Band: 6 or 7
Age Range: 5-18 years old
Key Responsibilities:
1. Assess and provide evidence-based occupational therapy interventions to children and young people with a range of physical, sensory, and developmental challenges.
2. Develop personalized treatment plans and work closely with children, families, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal outcomes.
3. Provide support and training for families and carers to help facilitate children’s development and independence in daily activities.
4. Collaborate with educational professionals, schools, and other service providers to ensure coordinated care for children and young people.
5. Monitor and document patient progress, adjusting treatment plans accordingly.
6. Advocate for children’s occupational therapy needs within the wider healthcare and educational systems.
Requirements:
1. HCPC registration as an Occupational Therapist.
2. Must be a driver and have access to own vehicle.
3. Experience in paediatric occupational therapy, particularly with children aged 5-18 years.
4. Knowledge of a range of paediatric conditions and evidence-based interventions.
5. Strong communication skills with the ability to engage and work with children and families.
6. Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
7. A commitment to continuous professional development and evidence-based practice.
