About the Company - For over 37 years CEMBRE Ltd has been designing and manufacturing solutions for connection and termination of electrical conductors: connectors, cable lugs, and tools for our Installation, cable glands, automatic and manual marking systems. With rapid growth plans at our manufacturing facility in Sutton Coldfield, we are now looking for a Environmental Advisor to join our expanding team.
About the Role - Reporting to the QHSE Manager the Environmental Advisor is responsible for cultivating a strong sustainability and environmental culture across all areas of the business. The ideal candidate will bring knowledge and experience and be able to provide and implement strategic solutions. Part of a small team, this role will work closely with the HSE Advisor and the Quality Engineer.
Responsibilities
* Keeping up-to-date with any changes in environmental law
* Conducting environmental inspections and site assessments
* Collating findings and reporting data to the senior management team
* Producing company procedures and policies about environmental concerns and emissions targets
* Auditing and updating environmental targets regularly
* Implementation and maintenance of BS:EN:ISO-9001, BS:EN:IS0-14001 & BS:OHSAS45001
* Communicating environmental requirements across the organisation
* Ensuring the continuous monitoring and assessment of environmental practices
* Supporting auditing measures and completing specific auditing duties
* Conducting field surveys to establish a baseline for levels of pollution or contamination for a site
* Liaising with site teams, clients, regulatory bodies and the wider environmental teams
* Implementing policies and standards
* Head up the Sustainability meetings
* Implementation and monitoring of continuous improvement action plans
Education and Skills
* 5 + years experience in an Environmental role
* Degree/HND/HNC in related field (Environmental, Quality, Manufacturing)
* Membership of a professional body related to environmental
* Working knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 & 45001
* Familiar with established management tools, project and planning techniques
* 2 + years experience in the manufacturing industry, with specific focus on working with copper and aluminium metals
* Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite products
* Knowledge of Sustainability or Net Zero
