Job Overview
Here at Serco we are looking for an OMU Hub Manager to join our Offender Management unit at our new state of the art Category C prison, HMP Fosse Way. You will lead and direct the work of the OMU staff in providing a comprehensive service to all stakeholders, fostering positive relationships with all relevant outside agencies, whilst embracing the ethos of managing a rehabilitative culture.
Key Responsibilities
1. Provide directional leadership and direct line management to a diverse staff group.
2. Drive cultural and operational change in line with Serco values.
3. Ensure effective processes to meet key performance targets and manage risks.
4. Accountable for the effective management of OMU staff to meet delivery requirements.
5. Liaise with various departments/agencies internally and externally.
6. Manage a designated number of staff within a Hub and support other managers as needed.
7. Ensure engagement, support, training, and motivation of all staff within the OMU.
8. Maintain accurate records and produce reports/data as required.
9. Attend relevant meetings and provide support to the Head of OMU Services.
10. Enter Month End Figures for all areas of responsibility and ensure KPTs are met.
Essential Qualifications
Minimum: Management experience
Desirable: Management Qualification Level 2 CMI or Equivalent, Experience working within a prison environment, OMU experience.
Essential Skills and Experience
A background in working within offenders or in a custodial environment is desirable. Excellent communication skills at all levels, both written and verbal, including a high level of computer literacy. Effective people management skills with demonstrable experience in managing a busy office environment. Ability to prioritize workloads, delegate tasks, and meet tight deadlines. A motivated individual with the drive and enthusiasm to bring about change and adopt our rehabilitative culture.
